§ Rule 49(f) Polling jury; procedure

Rule 49(f). Polling jury; procedure

When the verdict is announced either party may require the jury to be polled, which shall be done by the clerk asking each juror separately if the verdict returned is that juror's verdict. If any juror answers in the negative, the jury shall again be sent out for further deliberation, but if each juror concurs in the verdict it shall be received and noted in the minutes, except as
provided by subdivision (c) of this Rule, and the jury shall be discharged.

When polling a jury at verdict, the judge and clerk shall not identify the individual jurors by name, but shall use such other methods or form of identification as may be appropriate to ensure an accurate record of the poll and to accommodate the jurors' privacy.
